Physical Education Curriculum
All grades will warm up before starting the activities of the day. These warm up activities are designed to help develop body strength in the five areas tested by the Presidential Physical Fitness Test. This is done every spring for students in grades 1-5. At the end of each class, students have cool down activities and then review what they learned during that class session.

Students in grades 6-8 will be exposed to the following areas of instruction. The specific skill and activity introduced is grade appropriate and designed to be a building block for skills the following year.
Develop a weekly and daily sample fitness plan, each student will write their weekly/ daily activity goals
Develop physical abilities, tips to encourage others, roles of leaders
Set goals for Presidential Fitness Testing
Sports: Develop and practice game situation skills and show good sportsmanship
Understand the effects of nutrition on physical fitness and teach healthy vs. unhealthy eating habits. Food Pyramid.
Acquire physical skills which stimulate and challenge
Gain knowledge, skills, and strategies for maintaining personal physical fitness
Sports units include: badminton, tennis, golf, basketball, volleyball, flag-football, baseball, hockey, soccer, cross-country
Developmental Sports League (DSL)
Students in Grades 3-6 are eligible to participate in the after school sports teams. The following sports are offered each year. There is an additional fee associated with participation.
Fall Sports – Boys Flag Football, Girls Volleyball
Winter Sports – Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball
Spring Sports – Co-ed Soccer
Tri-Way Sports League
Students in Grades 6-8 are eligible to participate in the Tri-Way Sports League. The following sports are offered each year. There is an additional fee associated with participation.
Fall Sports – Boys Flag Football, Girls Volleyball
Winter Sports – Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball
Spring Sports – Co-ed Soccer
